Apple’s High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection tech is intended to stop users transferring content between computers which do not have locks in place to protect against copy infringement.
Apple has now added studio backed copy protection tech to their line of Apple MacBooks which apparently prevents movies purchased from the iTunes Store from being shown on non approved external monitors, and according to published reports this move has angered several MacBook customers.

Atom inside
We don’t have precise details yet, but the first Top is selling for NT$18,900 (New Taiwan dollars), which is the equivalent of about £380.
The 15.6-inch model is the first to arrive and is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU. As expected, that comes along with Windows XP, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and a 1.3-megapixel webcam.
Standard specs
Although those are distinctly entry-level specs, the main draw to the Top will be its touch-sensitive screen, making it something of a cross between a Tablet PC and an information terminal similar to those found in airports and other public places.
Asus clearly hopes the simple approach to the touch interface will prove popular, as it plans to sell five million Tops over the next two years. Larger 20- and 22-inch models are expected in the first half of next year.

Hewlett-Packard has introduced a new laptop computer with multi-touch technology, a first time attempt at a multi-touch system for the computer giant.
The TouchSmart tx2 laptop lets owners use hand motions instead of using a keyboard or mouse while manipulating photos, images, music and other applications.
HP’s tx2 weighs 5 lbs. and ships with Microsoft Windows Vista, 12.1-in. LED screen, rechargeable digital ink pen, and is powered using the AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core processor.
Multi-touch technology has been made popular by the Apple iPhone and other similar handhelds. In fact, some analysts and Apple backers expected Steve Jobs and Apple to be the first company to release a Mac laptop with multi-touch features.

The most unique feature of the Laptop Cool Table is its cooling ability. Laptop batteries can get very hot during use. The table houses two built-in USB fans which help to cool the laptop’s battery for optimal performance and prolonged life. The table’s USB cord easily connects to the laptop USB port which powers the table’s fans. The user has the option of using the table as a flat cooling pad by leaving the legs folded.
The flexible design enables users to easily place their laptop in the most comfortable position. Raising the laptop reduces sore wrists/back and keeps the hot battery from burning the user’s legs. The unit requires no assembly and adjusts in seconds. The legs extend vertically and horizontally and work independently. This enables the user to adjust the unit, regardless of the surface, i.e. the desk, the bed, the couch or the floor.

New Laptop: “TouchSmart tx2 By HP”

The Latitude XT is an enterprise tablet, which basically means it costs more and provides inferior specs. The baseline Latitude XT costs $1,829 (and that’s after a large discount) for a Core Solo processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 40GB hard drive. So, one might say the HP TouchSmart tx2 is the first multitouch tablet you would actually buy with your own money.
HP on Wednesday released the TouchSmart tx2, the first consumer laptop to feature multitouch functionality.
This 12.1-inch convertible tablet provides the iPhone-like ability to scroll, zoom, flick, and drag and drop by using your fingers on the screen. For example, you can scroll up and down by using two fingers on the screen or zoom in and out by using a pinching motion.
How did HP accomplish this feat, when Microsoft won’t add multitouch functionality until it releases Windows 7? By partnering with an Israeli company called N-trig. See N-trig’s multitouch technology (on a tablet that is not the TouchSmart tx2)
